The Board of Directos

The Board of Directors is composed of distinguished professors, well-known academics of political sciences, and former high state officials. The Board of Directors oversees the activities of AIPS and sets priorities for the Institute; it approves new program initiatives, the main fields of study, the publishing policy and selects the winners of AIPS prizes. It ensures AIPS’s independence. The members of the board are elected for a 3-year term. The board holds its meetings twice a year.
The Chairman of the Board of Directors is Mr. Sabri Godo, a well known personality in the Albanian politics, former head of the Foreign Affairs Committee of the Albanian Parliament. Vice Chairman is Mr. Flamur Gashi, Director of the National Institute of Diaspora in the Albanian Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

Dr. Islam Lauka

The AIPS Director, Dr. Islam Lauka, is a diplomat, and academic and a well-known analyst. He has a rich and long experience in service, mainly working in the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, holding important positions as: the General Director of Multilateral Relations, General Director of the Regional Cooperation, etc. Since January 1st, 2007 he is the head of the Board of the National Institute of Diaspora in the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
