The AIPS is a nonprofit, independent social science research institute based in Tirana, Albania, and in Pristina, Kosovo. Comprised of both senior government officials and highly experienced academics, the AIPS group of experts aims to analyse international political developments with implications for South-Eastern Europe, with a particular focus on Albanian affairs.

13/05/2017 – Mr. Muhamet Malo is posthumously awarded the prize “Konica” by the Albanian Center for American and British Studies (ACABS), for outstanding contributions in building friendship between the Albanians and other nations. Mr. Malo’s son Klajdi was present to accept the award in his name. The AIPS would like to express its gratefulness towards Mr. Malo, for his invaluable input for the Albanian cause.

     

02/05/2017 – AIPS Report on the Legality of Hydroelectric Power Plants in Valbona, based on International Conventions Environmental Protection, presented by AIPS Executive Director, Dr.Islam Lauka, in front of the Parliamentary Commission of Economy and Environment.

10/04/2017 – The Albanian Center for American and British Studies has released the latest issue of the journal “Atlantik”, the first one for this year. Regular members can access it through their emails.

02/03/2017 – “The rivalry between Russia and Austria-Hungary in the Balkans”, the AIPS study presented by Dr.Islam Lauka during the International Scientific Conference, “Relations between Albanians and Austro – Hungary (Austria) from the mid-19th century to our days”, has been published by UBT, together with other studies presented in the conference, in Skopje and Pristina.

25/11/2016 – The newest book authored by AIPS expert Dr.Jorgji Kote, “True Stories from Red Albania”, has been published in Engish, and made available to the public. The book offers an honest analysis of Albanian society during the almost half a century of communist rule. Discounted prices are available for AIPS members.

04/05/2016 – “Unifications and Succession: How do International Votes Influence the Cost-Benefit Analysis? Contemporary Southeastern Europe” is the title of the most recent paper by AIPS expert Alban Lauka, has been published in the peer-reviewed journal “Contemporary South-Eastern Europe”. It has been made available to the public at the journal’s webpage: http://www.suedosteuropa.uni-graz.at/cse/en/lauka.
